𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟗, 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Students from Year 9, Classes A and B, at Colégio Casa Mãe are carrying out a research project in Natural Sciences, bringing together scientific investigation, technology and bilingual communication. Working in groups, they explore sexually transmitted infections, analyse contraceptive methods, study the contributions of key scientists to Genetics and examine applications such as DNA testing, GMOs, cloning and vaccine development. They also debate how sexual reproduction shapes diversity and drives the evolution of populations. The project concludes with the creation of English language infographics and the oral presentation of the final products, strengthening research skills, scientific communication and bilingual literacy while showcasing the creativity and rigour of the school’s young scientists.

𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐦 𝐀çã𝐨: 𝟗.º 𝐀𝐧𝐨, 𝐂𝐢ê𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚çã𝐨 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞
Os alunos das turmas A e B do 9.º ano do Colégio Casa Mãe estão a desenvolver, na disciplina de Ciências Naturais, um trabalho de pesquisa que articula ciência, tecnologia e comunicação bilingue. Em grupos, investigam infeções sexualmente transmissíveis, analisam métodos contracetivos, exploram contributos de cientistas para a Genética e estudam aplicações como testes de DNA, OGM, clonagem ou vacinas. Debatem ainda o papel da reprodução sexuada na diversidade e evolução das populações. O projeto culmina na construção de infografias em inglês e na apresentação oral dos produtos finais, reforçando competências de investigação, comunicação científica e literacia bilingue, num trabalho que destaca o rigor e a criatividade dos jovens cientistas do colégio
